The Michigan Seal of Biliteracy is an award presented to high school students who have demonstrated proficiency in English and at least one other world language, such as Spanish. Students in grades 11 and 12 take a computer adaptive test that measures their world language proficiency in four domains: speaking, reading, listening and writing. Seniors who score at the intermediate high level in each domain receive recognition on their diploma and transcript and receive a special graduation cord and certificate of accomplishment. Since 2022, 51 FHS students have earned the Michigan Seal of Biliteracy.
