We Are Fennville

members of the student counsel shop for kids in need

Every December the FMS and FHS student council members show the true spirit of the season by fundraising all year to bring joy to children in our community. Through concession sales at FMS and chocolate sales at FHS, they raise the funds needed to shop for kids in our community ranging from 6 months to 18 years, thoughtfully selecting gifts that meet both needs and wishes. With care, they wrapped the presents and delivered them to the local United Methodist Church, where they’ll be shared along with food baskets for families in need. Supported by a generous community and guided by their advisors’ encouragement, these students have embraced a powerful lesson in compassion and giving. Their efforts remind us all of the importance of thinking of others and the lasting impact of kindness.

MI Heart Safe School logo

A HEARTSafe designation recognizes a school’s efforts to prevent sudden cardiac death of the young (SCDY) by preparing for a cardiac emergency. Members of this school community know how to recognize the signs of a sudden cardiac arrest and respond quickly by calling 9-1-1 and using CPR and an automated external defibrillator (AED) until EMS arrives.

More information on HEARTSafe

Our district has a total of 14 Automated External Defibrillators, including a new bilingual (English/Spanish) AED located just outside the northwest corner of the high school, accessible outdoors year-round, further enhancing the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and the entire community.
